Burlingame Eichlers  /  Schools

Two districts

Franklin, then Burlingame Intermediate, then Burlingame High.

Mills Estate Eichler addresses sit in the Burlingame School District for elementary and middle, and the San Mateo Union High School District for high school. Franklin Elementary is down the hill on Trousdale.

The trap on this page

“Mills Estates” as a neighbourhood name exists in both Burlingame and Millbrae, and property portals serve the two under one identifier. The Millbrae side feeds Millbrae schools and Mills High School. Those are not your schools, and a school rating you read for the neighbourhood may be for the wrong city.

A grey Eichler in Burlingame, with a level flat roof and clerestory band across the front and a glazed gable rising behind it, an olive tree, a two-car garage and a brick-edged path.
The gable, set back. Here the gable sits behind the flat roof line rather than over the entry, so it reads as a lit room beyond rather than as a porch. Same components, different arrangement — which is the clearest sign this tract was not built from a single plan.

The assignment.

The Burlingame School District runs seven schools: Burlingame Intermediate plus Franklin, Hoover, Lincoln, McKinley, Roosevelt and Washington elementaries.

Hoover, not Franklin, is the elementary for Burlingame Hills — the unincorporated community west of the city next to Hillsborough. That is a different place from Mills Estate, and at least one Eichler reference site conflates them. On that →

Two standing caveats, and we mean them.

Attendance boundaries change, and the district does not guarantee assignment by address alone. Nothing on this page is a promise about where a specific house's children will be placed. Confirm with the district before it matters to a decision.

And the schools are one of the clearest consequences of a 1946 municipal manoeuvre. Had Burlingame's horseshoe annexation failed, this ridge would plausibly be Millbrae. The story →
